The Silverado 3500 HD slowed from 50 to 44 mph while the F-350 accelerated from 50 to 56 mph when the exhaust brake was tested with a 16,500 lb trailer attached at a 6,000 ft elevation.

With a 9,750 lb trailer attached the passing performance at sea level for the Silverado 2500 HD was 1,020 ft, which outperformed the F-250′s 1,174 ft and the Ram 2500′s 2,886 ft. The Silverado 3500HD was the only vehicle able to pass a loaded semi while avoiding a slow-moving snow plow in the passing lane at 6,000-ft elevation with a 16,500-lbs trailer attached.

The Silverado 2500 exhibited bumper sag of 3.9” with a 2,400-lbs payload, 10,000-lbs construction trailer and 400-lbs tongue weight, and the F-250 showed 6.3” bumper sag.
